About NetWorthNowCalc

NetWorthNowCalc is a free, plain-language net worth calculator. You type in what you own and what you owe, press one button, and see a single number: your net worth. There is no sign-up, no account, and no cost. The goal is simple: make the first step of understanding your finances feel easy instead of intimidating.

Why this site exists

Many people have never calculated their net worth because the tools they find are either buried inside an app that wants their bank login, or they assume it is something only wealthy people do. Neither is true. Net worth is just a subtraction problem, and it is useful at every income level. A student with a car loan, a new graduate with student debt, and a retiree with a paid-off house can all learn something from the same two-column list. We built NetWorthNowCalc so that anyone could do that list in about two minutes, without handing over any personal information.

What the calculator does

The calculator adds up six asset categories (cash and savings, retirement accounts, investments, home value, vehicle value, and other assets), adds up five liability categories (mortgage, student loans, auto loans, credit cards, and other debts), and subtracts the second total from the first. It then shows you total assets, total liabilities, and the difference. That is all it does. It does not try to predict your future, rank you against other people, or recommend products.

What the calculator does not do

It is an educational tool. It does not give investment, tax, legal, or personalized financial advice, and it cannot see details such as taxes owed when you sell an asset, the exact terms of your loans, or how your accounts are owned. Please read the disclaimer and the methodology page so you know exactly what the number means.

Privacy by design

The arithmetic runs in your own browser. The figures you type into the calculator fields are not sent to us by the calculator, and we have no user accounts. Our privacy policy explains in detail what limited technical data a website like this can still receive, such as the information any web host sees when a page is requested, and what changes if we turn on analytics or advertising.

How we keep the content honest

Every guide on this site is written in plain language, uses worked examples with simple made-up numbers that are clearly labeled as examples, and cites a primary source whenever it quotes a real statistic. Our editorial disclosure explains how we handle advertising and any future affiliate relationships. If you find a mistake, please tell us and we will correct it.
